John Shackelford - The Transformation

Hello ladies and gents, well mainly Tim Olsen since he is my only follower currently.

For This blog I would like to lay out all of my goals from now till september.

I tried making a list of all of my goals that I would love to accomplish this year but there are far too many. A lot of them probably won’t even happen this year but who knows.

As stated before my biggest task is to lose 55 pounds if not more by September. I want to do this for obvious reasons as in my health, but I want to look good and gain the confidence as well.

My next big goal is getting a car… I had a car but for reasons I will not disclose here that car was taken from me. So for the last year I have been driving my mothers car.

As Well I need to get a new job I actually just lost my job TODAY soo it’s pretty important that I jump on the band wagon and get a new one ASAP.

I want to take my magic act to a whole new level and build an all new act from the ground up. I really would like the act to “get the party started” thus I have chosen a theme of doing tricks that could tie into the theme of a house party. I perform mainly in bars and clubs rather than concert venues now-a-days so I would love to have a few different shows to present for different clients. Currently I just change up the wording depending on where I am performing. I have a bartending routine planned out I just need to finish putting it all together and I think it would be the perfect opener to get the crowd excited.

Since I promote myself similar to the way bands and rappers promote themselves I feel I should have merch to sell at shows I have some cool ideas for T-shirts. As Well I would LOVE to have an awesome DVD that I could sell or even give away.

I want to create a KICK-ASS music video style demo. My current demo videos in my opinion are a tad boring. I just feel they don’t represent me and my personality at all the way I want them to. I’m a fun guy and that definitely needs to be represented in my demo video.

I am going into the Army National Guard in September but I would love to either go on a tour before then or, do another TV spot before then just so I can stay fresh in the circut for the 6 months that I’m gone. The last thing I want is for people to forget all about me and then I have to start all over again with everything I have worked for. SO I have decided to create business cards and press kits to send out to the Late Night Shows. I would absolutely LOVE to be a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s show or Conan, or George Lopez, Jimmy Kimmel, basically I would love to be on any of their shows I Love them all. oh and if you didn’t know I’m a huge fan of Late Night talk shows.

I have a ton of goals and these are just a few of them, but the last thing I would like to share on this blog today is that another goal I have for 2011 in general is to build a strong fan base of people that love magic and that love me! As I have said I would love to meet each and everyone of you guys out there that have a desire to meet me so the more people I can get involved in my “movement” if I can be as bold as to even call what I am trying to accomplish a movement, the more I will be able to get out there and be able to interact and shake hands and talk and performer for each and everyone of you without there having to be a computer screen, or an ocean, or even a state between us. I would love to come to you someday and say “Hello I’m John Shackelford” face to face.
